The Only Chances You Miss Are the Ones You Don’t Take
Why showing up is the secret ingredient to business success—and how building a strong foundation helps you do it.
I still remember the nerves.
I was in my early teens when I got the invitation: try out for an elite club soccer team. It was the kind of opportunity that makes your heart race—equal parts excitement and absolute terror.
I had been playing soccer since I was five. I was good. I knew that. But this was different. These were the best of the best. And suddenly, all the self-doubt started creeping in:
What if I’m not good enough?
What if I fail?
What if they laugh at me?
What if I humiliate myself—and my parents use this “failure” as another reason why I won’t make it?
But then there was another voice—the one that whispered:
What if this works? What if this is the opportunity I’ve been preparing for all along?
I was stuck between fear and possibility. Until my dad said something that changed my life:
“The only chances you miss are the ones you don’t take.”
And so, I showed up.
Not only did that team want me… so did several others. I became a loan player for different club teams, gained exposure I never would’ve imagined, and eventually earned a college scholarship—something I had dreamed of for years.
All because I showed up.
How This Applies to Business
Fast forward to today, and I see the same thing happening with women entrepreneurs. You’ve done the work. You’ve built the skills. You have the passion. And yet… you hesitate.
You second guess your offer.
You put off your launch.
You avoid visibility because you don’t feel “ready.”
And I get it—because I’ve been there. But here’s the truth:
Showing up is half the battle.
The other half? Building the foundation that gives you the confidence and security to show up again and again.
That tryout taught me more than just how to play at a higher level—it taught me how preparation and presence work together. Without the skills I’d built, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity. But if I hadn’t shown up, none of it would’ve mattered.
The same is true in business.
You can have the skills, the certifications, the offers—but if you never show up for the opportunity, if you never take the leap, then all that preparation sits unused.
Build It, Then Show Up for It
Here’s where I come in.
I help women build out the backend of their business with confidence.
Not just systems and strategy—but support and mindset.
Because when your foundation is solid—your structure, your processes, your messaging—you’re free to focus on what you do best.
You no longer hesitate at the edge of opportunity.
You recognize your preparation.
And you take the chance.
